Want to Learn to Skate?
Join Olympic figure skater Kim Seybold-Catron and the coaching staff of the Arctic Zone as they present the U.S. Figure Skating Association learn-to-skate program.

We offer 8 week group classes taught by one of our staff instructors that will be limited to 12 skaters per instructor. Skaters will be tested at the end of the 8 weeks for mastery of the maneuvers taught in this
class. Each skater will receive a certificate upon completion and will
proceed to the next level upon instructors recommendation.

30 min. group lessons per week
10% discount for each additional sibling
8 free public session passes (to be used during 8 weeks of class)
$3.00 skate rental.
2 make-up sessions are allowed during 8 week class - no make-ups will be allowed on the last day.

COST : $89.95

If you wish you may pay for skate rental in advance, cost for 8 week session is $24.00

We also offer a 3-week introductory class, designed for those who wish to try the sport for the first time. This will be a group class taught by one of our staff instructors. Skaters are introduced to the very basics of the sport.

Cost is $35.00, skate rental is $3.00

Skill Levels

Snowplow Sam 1-3 (ages 3-5): These levels are for the very beginning skater. Basics of skating will be introduced with fun and games.

         Mon. 3:45 & 4:45 pm / Tues. 1:00 pm / Sat. 9:45 & 10:15 am

Basic 1: (ages 6 and up):
forward march, and skating, stop and swizzles.
Mon. 3:45 & 4:45 pm / Tues. 1:00 pm / Sat. 9:45 & 10:15 am

Basic 2 : One foot glides, backward skating and slalom

Mon. 3:45 & 4:45 pm / Tues. 1:00 pm / Sat. 9:45 & 10:15

Basic 3 :
Forward stroking, 2 foot turn, backward and one foot glide.
Mon. 3:45 & 4:45 pm / Tues. 1:00 pm / Sat. 9:45

Basic 4:
Forward crossovers, forward 3 turn and backward stroking.
Mon. 4:15 pm / Tues. 1:00 pm / Sat. 9:45

Basic 5 : Forward edges, backward crossovers and spin.

                   Mon. 4:15 / Sat. 10:15

Basic 6 : Backward to forward turn, t-stop and bunny hop

                 Mon. 4:15 / Sat. 10:15

Basic 7 : Mohawk, ballet jump, and pivot

                 Mon. 4:15 / Sat. 10:15

Basic 8 : Combination move, one foot spin and waltz jump

Freestyle 1-4

Adult Beginner:

No refunds after starting date

We would like to suggest the following... Please check in at the front door each time you are attending a lesson. Please allow 10 - 15 mins. for lacing up skates before start of lesson, dress warmly, (jackets, hats, & mittens are recommended ) Helmets for tiny tots are suggested but not mandatory - they are available in the pro shop rental area, just ask. When renting skates ask for one size smaller than your shoe size. Please observe lessons from the lobby so the instructor can get your childs full attention during the lesson. Being in a group lesson does not automatically assure you a spot in the next session. Names are taken on a first come first paid basis.
