Want to Learn to Skate?
Join the Arctic Zone coaching staff as they present our Learn-to-Skate program. We offer 5 week group classes taught by one of our staff instructors that will be limited to 12 skaters per instructor. Skaters will be tested at the end of the 5 weeks for mastery of the maneuvers taught in this
class. Each skater will receive a certificate upon completion and will
proceed to the next level upon instructors recommendation.
30 min. Group lessons per week
- 5 free public session passes (to be used during 5 weeks of class)
$5.00 discount when you sign up for 2 or more consecutive sessions
$3.00 skate rental.
1 make-up sessions are allowed during 1 week class - no make-ups will be allowed on the last day.
- COST : $65.00
- If you wish you may pay for skate rental in advance, cost for 5 week session is $15.00

Skill Levels
Snowplow Sam 1-3 (ages 3-5): These levels are for the very beginning skater. Basics of skating will be introduced with fun and games.

Basic 1: (ages 6 and up):
forward march, and skating, stop and swizzles.

Basic 2 : One foot glides, backward skating and slalom

Forward stroking, 2 foot turn, backward and one foot glide.

Forward crossovers, forward 3 turn and backward stroking.

We would like to suggest the following... Please check in at the front door each time you are attending a lesson. Please allow 10 - 15 mins. for lacing up skates before start of lesson, dress warmly, (jackets, hats, & mittens are recommended ) Helmets for tiny tots are suggested but not mandatory. When renting skates ask for one size smaller than your shoe size. Please observe lessons from the lobby so the instructor can get your childs full attention during the lesson. Being in a group lesson does not automatically assure you a spot in the next session. Names are taken on a first come first paid basis. |
